Say thank you to clients in a creative way to remembered

The end of the year is a time when many businesses have the same dilemma. They need to figure out how to say thank you to clients in a meaningful way. Even outside the holiday season, a thank you is always a good idea to keep in touch with your clients, but the holiday season offers the best excuse to check in and say, ?Thank you for your business.?

If you are in this predicament, here are a few ideas.

A tisket a tasket

Gift baskets and edible gifts show a little more creativity than an email. Who doesn?t enjoy getting a box or basket filled with goodies?

Just imagine your client setting your thank you gift down in the break room. The first question is going to be, ?Who sent this??

The answer will be the company that may get their business next time they need a service or product. A classic holiday gift basket filled with chocolates, pretzels, caramel apples or all of the above will surely make a memorable impression on any potential client.

The early bird gets the worm

Are you following up on mail order leads? Do it quickly.

~

Leads are left unattended every day. If someone takes the time to contact you for more information, you should get back to them as quickly as possible before they change their mind and move on to another vendor. If they then decide to work with your company, a timely personal thank you makes them think they made the right choice in hiring you.

Quicker is Best

Randi Busse, President of Workforce Development Group, Inc., says it is important to say thank you to your customers a quickly as possible. Her advice is to be timely and be personal.

Sending an email is way too easy and writing a generic greeting doesn?t work well either. Take the time to write handwritten and personal note specific to the client even if a card is the only thing you send. By making it personal, you are more likely to earn more business from that client. It?s all about relationships.

The company that reaches out personally is the company who will earn the client?s business in the future.

So try to be creative in the way you say thank you to clients.

Send a basket filled with edible goodies for the office to enjoy during the busy holiday season. Attach a card or small promotional item that will keep your company name top-of-mind, and that may get you the call before competitors.

At the very least, be personal about it. Instead of an email thank you, call. Send a professional and heartfelt thank you letter. Post a testimonial via social media or on your client’s website.

Your small effort could pay off by earning your company more business during the rest of the year.
