New Year’s resolutions often begin with the best of intentions, but often we fall short.
This happens so much so that whenever one makes a joke about it there is almost no audience that will not immediately communicate some level of recognition. In this top ten New Year’s resolutions list I will suggest some resolutions that may be a bit more realistic than buying a house to flip or losing a ton of weight that you may not need to drop anyway.
10. Getting Healthier Through Incremental Lifestyle Changes
This year don’t overdo it and let yourself ease into a new lifestyle by setting some short term goals that will lead to bigger changes down the road. Instead of trying to jump into eating healthier all at once, take it one step at a time so as not become discouraged.
9. Be More Outgoing
Do yourself a favor and get out to meet some new people. Expanding your social circle can do wonders for life, providing great new experiences and a larger network of social and emotional support.
8. Be More Forgiving
2019 is a better time than ever to let go of those old grudges and bad memories that have been giving you grief for all this time. Making a concerted effort to let go of anger is a great way to improve your life and increase your emotional resilience.
7. Enjoy New Art
If you are anything like me then it easy to get stuck enjoying your old favorites when it comes to things like movies, music, and other forms of art. This year, try listening to a new song everyday, watching some movies you’ve never heard of, or visiting museums containing unfamiliar form of art.
6. Go Out More
Get out and try some new things things this year. Take a vacation somewhere you’ve never been, visit another country, or just get out and see some new places in your hometown.
5. Take Up a Hobby
Have felt like you’ve been in something of a rut lately? Does it sometimes feel like life is all work, housekeeping and sleep? Then maybe this year is the time to take up a new hobby.
4. Look for a More Rewarding Career Path
This year might be the time to make a major life shift that will increase your happiness and productivity. If you are feeling unsatisfied with your current job or career path it could be time to take a bold leap into a new position or even a whole new career.
3. Start Therapy
If you have been thinking of starting therapy to deal with personal issue then this year you should make a commitment to working through those problems with a qualified therapist. Therapy is a great way to unpack lingering emotional issues and gain some valuable perspective.
2. Begin a Self Care Regimen
When you’re making up your schedule for the first weeks of the new year make sure that you pencil in some time for self care. Start taking some time every day to enjoy a healthy activity that refreshes and revitalizes you.

If an unfinished project from this past year has left you with a nagging feeling of incompleteness then this year is the time to tackle those unfinished projects head on. Even if the outcome isn’t exactly what you desired then you will still have the satisfaction
