New years cruise

Sail into the new year on a cruise this holiday season
For many people, the most hectic time of year is the Christmas shopping season. It’s an exhausting, busy time. Sometimes after a couple of months like that, it’s just nice to get away from it all.
What possible better way to do that than to take a new years cruise? There are options on where to go to suit any taste, and a variety of budget plans depending on what you can afford after that hectic shopping season is over.
A Winter Wonderland
To see what amazing sites the cold country has to offer, why not consider Canadian or Alaskan cruises? I may be biased, having lived in Alaska for six months when I was a young adult, but Alaska is one of the most amazing places on Earth, and there are things there that you simply won’t see anywhere else.
Winter is the time of year in Alaska when you might even get a glimpse of the Aurora Borealis. With salmon, moose, bears, mountains, glaciers and more, there’s always something to see in Alaska.
The Islands
Another great place to consider taking a new years cruise is the Caribbean. Options in the south eastern waters near Florida abound. There’s Bermuda, the Bahamas, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago and more.
There’s no shortage of places to go in this part of the Atlantic. This is an especially great choice if you’ve had enough of old man winter and want to find a place to warm up for a few days.

Central and South America
Whether you want beaches, sun, margaritas, or a chance to explore the ancient ruins of the Inca, Maya, Aztec or other ancient civilizations, Central and South America have much to offer. There are many ports of call in Mexico on either side of the continent where you can go, and it’s not too far away.
To get more exotic you can choose the Yucatan or places further south. The Panama Canal, Rio De Janero, Montevideo and Buenes Aires all have ports of call where cruise ships abound. And you certainly won’t have to worry about being snowed in at any of these locations.
Europe
Be it the British Isles, the south of France, Amsterdam or any number of other locations in Europe, it’s a wonderful place to see thousand-year-old buildings still in use and visit the birthplace of America’s heritage.
There are many European cruise destinations to choose from, both hot and cold and everything in between. Because of the distance, these may be a bit more expensive than a trip to north or central America, but well worth the investment for a lifetime of unforgettable memories.
Australasia
Among the most exotic and exciting of all destinations is the area of Asia, Australia and New Zealand. In Asia there are destinations galore and a wide variety of cultures to explore.
Australia and New Zealand are believed by many to be the most beautiful places on earth, and many filmmakers choose this area to shoot their films for this reason.
The Middle East
Finally, if a truly exotic trip is your intent, you can choose the middle east. These days many Americans picture the middle east as a dangerous, war-ridden place, but there are many wonderful areas that can be visited and explored.
One of the fastest growing vacation and entertainment destinations world-wide right now is Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. Home of several theme parks and the newest holder of the title “tallest building in the world” Dubai is a getaway for those who can afford the best.
No matter whether you want to go north or south, whether you want to ski or swim, whether you want to enjoy the wonders of the arctic or the relaxation of the beaches of the Caribbean, a new years cruise can make for a wonderful, relaxing, exciting getaway.
