Want to know how to link your social media accounts? It is easy!
Have you ever had to slog through Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Flickr, or any of your other social media accounts after a long day at work? It can be a time consuming ordeal trying to stay in touch with coworkers, friends, family, Twitter followers, potential customers and the like, through our computers, phones, and other mobile devices.
Fortunately, there is an easy way to link your social media accounts together, whether you are an individual or small business owner, in order to save yourself some time and effort in the social media dominated world.
First Things First — What Programs are Available to Help
There’s a laundry list of programs that can help you combine your social media accounts.
Ping.fm is a free service that’s easy to use as well. Postling is a pay service for small businesses looking to consolidate all their social media needs into one, simple to monitor and convenient place. Free sites such as Hootsuite, Social Oomph, and TweetDeck, also allow for users to buy into their “Pro” versions, which add services and amenities beyond those free versions.

Depending upon what social media accounts are most important to you — TweetDeck only handles Facebook and Twitter, for example — tailoring a program to your specific social media needs is an important first step in the process.
Now What — How do I Actually Link My Social Media Accounts?
According to David Daw, of PC World, Ping.fm offers a nice combination of free features as well as a plethora of options for consolidating your social media needs. Programs such as Facebook, MySpace (is that even still around?), AIM, Tumblr, Blogger, Bebo, Twitter, and WordPress, are just a few of those available on Ping that you can fold into one easy to use and all encompassing social media conglomerate.
Taking Ping.fm as an example, the user simply sets up his or her account online. Now, for each of the social media sites you may be interested in adding, there can be slightly different procedures regarding adding them. But, for the most part, there will be an ADD NETWORK link to the right of each social site. You will click and follow instructions on the service page in order to add the network successfully. It’s important to have your user name and password for each site you want to add into Ping.
Once everything has been input, you can head up and click on the dashboard link at the top of the page. Write the message you would like to send and hit Ping It! and watch as it flows from account to account, thereby notifying friends, family, coworkers, followers, in one fell swoop.
If you don’t want to use Ping, there are still the other options listed above, plus many more. Each of these sites will provide helpful and detailed information on sign-up, set-up, and the actual process of linking your social media accounts. The mainstay of what you will need to provide will be the login information for each of your accounts (eg: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.).
And from there, the time it takes to connect — whether you’re an individual looking to consolidate the process or a small business owner looking for quicker ways to attract customers — is as fast as snapping your fingers.
