The only thing difficult about a Best of fudge flavors list is keeping said list to a manageable level.
I mean, this is fudge we’re talking about here. Dark, milk chocolate, with or without nuts; the opportunities to make an already fantastic treat even better are almost endless.
Of course the upside is it’s pretty hard to find bad fudge. And so with a perfectly half-full glass of milk near at hand, here are the best of fudge flavors.
Products from religious groups
Southern Touch fudge
The thing about life at a monastery, at least from what I gather, is the monks have a bit of time on their hands and they like to use that time wisely. That’s why so many great wines and other delectibles can be found at these houses of worship. So it is with fudge flavors. As you might imagine there are a number of options. But the Southern Touch fudge really stands out. Bits of real peach, pecans and a splash of peach brandy; oh yeah.
River Street Sweets
Peanut Butter fudge
Maybe not ideal for the fudge purist, and you know who you are, but there’s just something about peanut butter that goes ridiculously well with chocolate; or just about any sweet really. Not everyone loves peanut butter cookies for example, which is fine; leaves more for the rest of us. Same with these creamy peanut butter fudge flavors from River Street Sweets. Not a fan? No problem, they definitely won’t go to waste.
Gourmet food catalog
Double chocolate fudge
Somewhere on our list a reserved spot for some good old fashioned country fudge was needed. Nothing fancy mind you, just down and dirty double chocolate fudge. And like the sign says, grab a few tins and you’ll save even more. Cost conscious and fudge loving; the perfect combination.
Savannah’s Candy Kitchen
Creme de menthe fudge
Okay, this is kind of cheating, but look at these things! Not one of the traditional fudge flavors of course, but Crème de Menthe fudge brownies from the hands of the Candymakers at Savannah’s Candy Kitchen? Whoa. And to be fair, “fudge” IS in the name so that’s got to count for something. Oh, and Savannah’s will even ship these delightful little creatures for free. That does it; these are definitely staying on the list.
Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory
Rocky Road fudge
Rocky Road isn’t just for ice cream anymore. Like peanut butter, marshmallows and chocolate just seem to play well with each other. And who isn’t for some peace and harmony in today’s topsy turvy world? Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory has a slew of fudge flavors to choose from, but this one jumped right out as the pick of the litter. Though, truth be told the vanilla fudge made a run, but was nipped at the finish line by the Rocky Road. Oh, so close!
