Do you have a sweet tooth? See if your favorite candy bar made the list.

Mmmmmm, chocolate. What would life be like without the pleasure of chocolate? Here in the United States, we can get chocolate in every shape and form imaginable ? from chocolate-covered espresso beans to gourmet chocolate bars to boxes of chocolates from Russell Stover and See’s.

Everyone has his or her favorite, so I decided to take an informal Web poll and find out which are the 10 most popular chocolate bars. The results weren’t all that surprising; many of my own favorites appeared on the list.

Kit Kat ? The Kit Kat bar covers two cravings: chocolate and crunch. Crispy cream-filled wafer cookies are smothered in Hershey’s chocolate, perfect for snapping apart and crunching.

Hershey’s Bar ? The name Hershey’s is synonymous with chocolate here in the United States, and the plain old Hershey’s bar showed up as many people’s favorite. It consists of creamy milk chocolate, with nothing added to detract from the flavor.

Milky Way ? The Mars candy company produces the Milky Way bar. It is a rich bar of chocolate nougat, topped with caramel, and covered with milk chocolate ? rich and chewy.

3 Musketeers ? Also made by Mars, and very similar to the Milky Way bar, is the 3 Musketeers bar. In this version, the nougat is light and fluffy, and then covered by chocolate. No caramel, but still delicious.

Almond Joy ? This is one of my personal favorites: fluffy coconut filling is topped with almonds, and then covered in milk chocolate. Almond Joy is produced by The Hershey Company.~

Baby Ruth ? Nestle produces the Baby Ruth, another chewy favorite. It is filled with fudge nougat and peanuts, and covered in ? of course ? chocolate.

York Peppermint Pattie ? While technically not a chocolate bar, the York Peppermint Pattie ranks high among chocolate lovers. It has a cool peppermint cream center, covered with dark chocolate. The sugar-free variety is unbelievable good for light candy.

Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups ? Also not technically a chocolate bar, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups are tops for many chocolate lovers. Rich peanut butter, covered with rich milk chocolate: these are perfect with a large glass of ice-cold milk.

Butterfinger ? Another peanut butter and chocolate combination, the Butterfinger bar has a flaky orange peanut butter-flavored center, covered with chocolate. This is one of my favorite movie theater snacks.

Snickers ? The Snickers bar ranked highest among the people I polled, and it is my number one favorite, too. Like the Milky Way, it is filled with nougat, but this time the nougat is peanut butter-flavored. Top that with caramel and roasted peanuts, and then cover it with milk chocolate, and you have just about the perfect chocolate bar.

There you have it: the 10 most popular chocolate bars. I don’t know about you, but I’m hungry!
